Manager, Strategic Initiatives

Annie is a versatile communications leader with a passion for people. She joined UBC in 2017 after five years at Langara College leading communications and marketing for International Education, and her experience in post-secondary is complemented by an international background in writing and journalism. Annie leads the development, execution, and evaluation of Communications & Engagement projects outlined in the VPFO strategic plan, as well as supporting other enabling projects.

Annie holds undergraduate degrees in English, Mathematics, and Education from Queen’s University, and a master’s degree in Journalism from the University of the West of England. She is also a certified Prosci Change Management professional, and is motivated by the belief that communications can drive positive and transformative change.

Away from her desk, Annie is an avid sports fan, an amateur photographer, a ukulele enthusiast, and a general fan of good adventures.
