UBC Okanagan Channels

UBCO has a dedicated team to help you get your message out

UBC’s Okanagan campus has several channels that are used exclusively to inform students, faculty, and staff audiences in that community.

Considerations

This channel is best when…

  • you have a message that has specific interest for the UBC Okanagan campus community.

When to change the channel?

  • No one likes spam, so double check that your message is directly applicable to the Okanagan audience.
  • Sometimes a strong approach is to work with the UBCO University Relations team team to create a unique Okanagan version of your campaign that leverages the work on both campuses in a unique way.

Details

UBC Okanagan’s primary channels are owned and operated by the UBCO University Relations team:

  • ok.ubc.ca is the primary homepage for the Okanagan campus. It provides information, resources, and content for the UBC Okanagan community, and signposts to their most important website properties.
  • The Exchange is a biweekly newsletter that is distributed to all Okanagan faculty and staff.
  • Okanagan broadcast emails are used to send direct updates to all faculty and staff on the Okanagan campus. To be sent, content must meet the criteria outlined by the UBCO University Relations team.
  • Digital signage on the Okanagan campus is managed locally through a dedicated system.
  • The Okanagan Communicators Network meets quarterly to share updates about communications activity on the Okanagan Campus. The group includes administrative units who have some communications responsibility.
