September 9–13, 2024 is Safety Awareness Week. We would like your help with promoting Safety Awareness Week to maintain a safe and secure campus for our university community.
Throughout the week, UBC Campus Security will set up information booths across UBC Vancouver campus to actively engage and educate students, faculty and staff on theft prevention and provide helpful safety and security tips.

- Newsletter: Recommended copy to reach students, faculty, and staff

Campus Security welcomes all students, faculty, and staff to the start of the new Academic school year!
Campus Security welcomes all students, faculty, and staff to the start of the new academic school year! September 9–13 is Safety Awareness Week. Let’s start the year off right by learning how to keep yourself and the UBC community safe and secure on campus.
During this week, visit UBC Campus Security’s information booths across various locations on the UBC Vancouver campus to learn about theft prevention and helpful safety and security tips.
- Monday, September 9 (10:00 am-2:00 pm) at the UBC Student Recreation Centre
- Tuesday, September 10 (10:00 am-2:00 pm) at the Life Building
- Wednesday, September 11 (11:00am–3:00 pm) at Lee Square
- Thursday, September 12 (10:00 am-2:00 pm) at the Orchard Commons Courtyard
- Friday, September 13 (10:00 am-2:00 pm) at Martha Piper Fountain
On Wednesday, September 11, stop by the information booth at Lee Square and get to know some of our community partners, including Emergency Management, the RCMP, Transit Police, Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO), AMS Sexual Assault Support Centre and Safewalk, ICBC, Crimestoppers, and Health and Wellness.
Don’t forget to also download the UBC Safe Vancouver app and turn on push notifications to receive timely updates and urgent notifications. The UBC Safe App is free and recommended for UBC students, faculty, staff and campus visitors.
