What we’re asking

May 5 to 11, 2024 is Emergency Preparedness Week (EP Week). We would like your help with promoting EP Week to increase our community’s resilience, and emergency awareness and preparedness. We would also like to inform our community about the test of the national emergency alert system on Wednesday, May 8. EP Week is a national event supported by Public Safety Canada.

Emergency Preparedness Week is May 5-11, 2024

Join us during Emergency Preparedness Week (EP Week) to increase the UBC community’s resilience by learning about emergency preparedness. EP Week is a national event supported by Public Safety Canada.

On Wednesday, May 8, the national emergency alert system will be tested. The alert will be broadcast on radio, TV, and compatible cell phones.

You can get prepared for an emergency by learning about the risks in your community, making a plan, and building a kit.
