Indigenous Business Directory

Campaign overview

Earlier this year, VP Finance & Operations’ Procurement Programs launched UBC’s Indigenous Business Directory to support locating and identifying Indigenous businesses to consider when making purchasing decisions at UBC. The directory is a centralized resource to empower faculty and staff to identify businesses that align with their procurement needs, and foster proactive engagement with the Indigenous business community.

We would like your help to share UBC’s Indigenous Business Directory in your channels to create awareness that this resource is available and to foster a more inclusive and supportive business environment for Indigenous businesses.

Did you know UBC has an Indigenous Business Directory?

Earlier this year, the Indigenous Business Directory was launched to support locating and identifying Indigenous businesses to consider when making purchasing decisions at UBC.

The directory is a centralized resource to empower faculty and staff to identify businesses that align with their procurement needs, and foster proactive engagement with the Indigenous business community. The businesses are identified as majority-owned/controlled (51% or more) by Indigenous peoples.

We appreciate your commitment to fostering a more inclusive and supportive business environment for Indigenous businesses.

Indigenous Business Series: Working with UBC

The Indigenous business series brings together voices from majority-owned/controlled (51% or more) by Indigenous peoples’ businesses that have worked with UBC. The series is a short interview with some of the Indigenous Businesses UBC has worked with to hear their experience and perspective with the procurement process and working with UBC.

The series intends to help increase supplier diversity opportunities for Indigenous businesses and improve inclusion of Indigenous suppliers in upcoming work at UBC.

Hear what some of our Indigenous suppliers say about their experience working with UBC and learn more about the Indigenous Business Directory on the Finance website.
